Media release: 23 January 2013
Aucklanders will have a say on the future of public transport at hearings starting next week.
Auckland Transport is transforming Auckland’s current complex mix of public transport services into a mature city-wide network of connected, reliable and frequent services. This is a key proposal of the Auckland Regional Public Transport Plan (RPTP).
The plan outlines the public transport services and policies proposed for the region over the next 10 years. It is viewed by Auckland Transport as a change maker in the way public transport will be delivered for customers.
Public submissions on the draft plan closed in November and Auckland Transport received 719 submissions. All submissions made on the RPTP are available here.
The next step in the consultation process is public hearings to consider those submissions. Only those who made submissions can have their say at the public hearings, however anyone is welcome to attend the scheduled hearing sessions.
