Bus Stop Infrastructure Guidelines

These guidelines developed by ARTA in conjunction with a number of stakeholders and consultants aim to ensure that all bus stops in the region are accessible and to provide customers, regardless of their level of mobility, with a real passenger transport alternative to the private car.

 ​Code of Practice for Working in the Road (CoPWiR)

Standards for working in the road cover maintenance and repair work of existing services, new installations, both underground and above ground.  These standards are produced by Road Controlling Authorities within the Auckland Region and the Auckland Utility Operators Group (AUOG).

These guidelines developed by ARTA in conjunction with a number of stakeholders and consultants provide regional guidance on undertaking a range of assessments and implementing well integrated multi-modal developments throughout the Auckland region.

Land Purchase and Compensation

The acquisition of land for public purposes such as roading is governed by the Public Works Act 1981. If you are affected by this, you will be entitled to compensation under this Act.

The Design of Streets Handbook provides high level, best practice principles to guide the design of all streets and roads, with the exception of motorways.  The principles apply equally to existing streets and roads as to new streets on the North Shore.
