Hobsonville Ferry Terminal
A new ferry terminal has been built at Hobsonville Point to service the growing new residential population in the area, and a ferry service has started between Hobsonville, Beach Haven and Downtown Auckland.

The new terminal was opened jointly by the Prime Minister John Key and the Mayor of Auckland Len Brown at a public celebration at The Landing, Hobsonville Point.
The event included opening of another new ferry wharf at Beach Haven on the other side of the upper harbour.

The Service
The service has started and connects Hobsonville Point with Beach Haven in Kaipatiki and the Downtown Ferry Terminal using the vessel Discovery II, an 80 seat catamaran ferry.
The service will be operated by 360 Discovery Ltd and will run on weekdays. Two morning and three afternoon services will operate each week day. Morning services will operate from Beach Haven from 6.50am and will end in Hobsonville at 6.45pm.

The service from Hobsonville Point to downtown will take 30 minutes. The service from Beach Haven takes 40 minutes.
A park-and-ride carpark has been provided with 31 car spaces.

The Terminals
The new ferry wharves at Hobsonville Point and Beach Haven were completed in January.
The Hobsonville terminal cost Auckland Transport $3.5 million along with a $300,000 contribution for enhancements from the Hobsonville Land Company and a $300,000 contribution from the Hobsonville Land Company toward ongoing maintenance.
The Hobsonville service provides an easy and pleasant link between the major new housing development there, and the city.
The Hobsonville service is supported by the carpark carpark and a bus stop.
