There are a number of wharves and boat ramps in the Auckland area and the Hauraki Gulf Islands that are available for public use. Auckland Transport is responsible for maintaining wharves used in conjunction with public transport, such as ferry terminals. Auckland Council is responsible for maintaining all other wharves, as well as boat ramps.
