An astounding 54 per cent of short morning peak trips are made by car. These trips are less than 2km and many are to drop children off at school.

Many schools are taking action to encourage walking and cycling to school and to reduce car use.

Here is information and resources about setting up walking school buses, developing travel plans and improving road safety at schools.
