Workplace Travel Plans

Over 50 per cent of morning peak traffic is made up of people driving to work. Typically each car only contains one person; and all these cars on the road contribute to traffic jams, increase time stuck in traffic, create parking hassles and air pollution – and add stress for employers and employees.

Workplace travel plans

  • offer employees more travel choices
  • improve productivity
  • save on parking
  • deliver community and environmental benefits
  • improve your company image.

The workplace travel plan programme works with a range of businesses, tertiary institutes and business areas in the Auckland region. Since 2007 over 2,000 car trips have been removed from our congested road network. People are switching to a wide range of travel modes, particularly public transport and carpooling.
